Divisoperzero was founded in 2013 by Francesca Villa and Francesco Picciotti.The main interest of the company is research in the field of the different techniques of puppetry both as regards the construction of puppets, marionettes and objects and for what is the performative and manipulation phase. For this reason, since the first shows, table puppets, puppets, objects and puppets have always coexisted on the stage, without any desire for "technical purity" using, from time to time, what is considered most suitable to tell a particular phase of the story. The different phases of the work of building a show interpenetrate: the creation of the general idea and then of the text, takes place at the same time as the construction of the scenes and objects necessary for the narration. The two things proceed on parallel tracks that influence each other. The craftsmanship of the process, the continuous search for new solutions, both scenic and constructive, and the inclusion of this process in the final result, are part of the company's poetics: each show is a magic of which it is easy to guess the trick. Theater for the new generations offers a greater space for expressive freedom and goes well with this artisanal vision of theater for this reason children and families become the main target audience." The first show is freely based on the novel of the same name by Luigi Pirandello and is represented in front of heterogeneous audiences even in non-designated places, a characteristic that remains throughout the artistic career until now. All the company's shows, in fact, do not need a traditional theatrical audience; they have been taken to schools, homes, squares, places of all kinds, not having, by precise choice, particular technical needs. With these shows the company travels throughout Italy, touching Catania, L'Aquila, Siena and various theaters in Rome, the city in which it mainly trains and worksIn 2016 it dedicates itself to "Ubu Me, for two actors and rag puppets", thus starting to work on the text through an adaptation of the well-known work by Alfred Jarry. The show is also the first designed for a more adult audience, although the game of puppets and rag puppets maintain the general grotesque and childlike tone. "Ubu Me" debuts in Rome after a period of residency in Siena.With "Stories of this world" in 2017, the work on the word focuses on the narration of myths and legends, continuing in the following years with "Pluto and Proserpina" and then with "Hephaestus. In 2023 with the Florian Metateatro he produces the show Officina Prometeo which participates in the Contemporaneo Futuro festival in Rome, in Gelatine/Palla al Centro and Arrivano dal Mare. Puppetry is a catalogue of possible representations, using shadows or puppets, wood or foam rubber, is already a choice that communicates something to the viewer. It is precisely the richness of techniques and the possibility of hybridizing them with each other, mixing ancient and future, that makes figures a powerful means capable of inhabiting the scene as no human being could.
