Drogheria Rebelot was founded following a meeting between Miriam Costamagna, Andrea Lopez Nunes and Andrea Rizzo at the “Nico Pepe” Academy of Dramatic Arts in Udine. After graduating in 2015, each pursued their own research in different fields: Miriam and Andrea Lopez in the areas of children’s theatre and puppetry, and Andrea Rizzo in contemporary dance. In 2019, whilst attending “Animateria”, a training course for experts in the techniques and languages of puppetry, Miriam and Andrea L. decided to set up their own company through which to experiment with what they had learnt, with a particular focus on shadow theatre and the blending of artistic languages, thereby bringing Andrea R. on board. Returning to work together is a valuable opportunity to share what they have learnt separately and thus enhance each individual’s skills within a joint project. In addition to their theatrical research, they are pursuing an experimental project in ‘Video di Figura’ (Puppet Video), in which, by blending the language of puppetry with that of cinema, they seek to enhance each other’s potential; they also run puppetry workshops for children and teachers, both in Italy and abroad. Since 2022, the company has been supported and mentored by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus in Turin. They currently have five productions to their name: - "Caro Lupo" ("Dear wolf" selected for the ‘Progetto Cantiere’ programme promoted by the Festival Incanti in Turin and included in the official programme of the 2023 Festival Mondial des Theatres de Marionnettes), a black light and shadow theatre production directed by Nadia Milani; - "CartaSìa" (winner of the ‘Portraits on Stage’ call for proposals 2021, a finalist for the 2021 N Uovo Teatro Award and a finalist in the “Forever Young 2022” call for proposals organised by Corte Ospitale), a black light and physical theatre production, - “Prendere il volo” ("Time to fly", included in the official programme of the Festival Mondial des Theatres de Marionnettes 2025 and awarded a special mention at the 4th edition of the Emanuele Luzzati National Children’s Theatre Award – City of Santa Margherita 2025), a puppet and live-action theatre production, produced by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus, - “Il bosco delle storie di Natale”, a puppet theatre and live-action performance, produced by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus and La Piccionaia, - “Winnie-the-Pooh – ora abbiamo sei anni”, a puppet theatre and live-action performance written and directed by Enrica Carini and produced by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus. Drogheria Rebelot is a member of UNIMA Italia.
