Idra Teatro is a multidisciplinary performing art space and residency and has been present on the national theater scene for almost 25 years (since 1998), a period in which its careful and dedicated work to artistic creation has led to a steady growth and positioning both in the national and international circuit, especially European. As his own name “hydra” (a mythological animal with seven heads, each of which, when severed, causes three more to grow) underline, Idra Teatro represent the desire to always be adapted to the contemporary world in search of new forms of representation and continues challenges to contemporaneity where integration and collaboration are key words on which to build a sustainable society.Idra Tatro have three areas of interest: residencies: we facilitate the search for national and international companies; training: from beginners to professionals; programming: we host many artists thanks to the projects we organize: Wonderland Festival (international festival), Ci.tt.à. Dolci (theatre circuit in the province of Brescia), Premio per le arti L. A. Petroni (national prize for emerging artists). Wonderland Festival was established in 2012 to provide Brescia (Italy) with an opportunity to provide visibility to both national and international contemporary theater. Since then, the festival has grown exponentially, but it still maintains as its main goals: the audience as an active producer of meanings; fostering new talents of the performing arts; and providing a platform for exchange and networking.IDra Teatro has also won numerous national funding calls, as well as European both as a partner and as a leader, the most relevant are: Eu Culture 2007-2013 “Thalassya of myth” (2009); Wonderland Festival since 2014 is recognize by MiC (Ministry of Italian Culture) and Regione Lombardia as relevant festival for performing arts; in 2014 win the call focus on the international mobility P.O.R. of Regione Lombardia and realize “Unlimited” with Teater Centrum di Umea (Sweden) as partner; in 2015 win the same call win the project “Performing Arts Mobility” with the collaboration of other 8 partner from Slovenia, France, Spain, GB, Rumania, Croazia, Germany, Sweden. As well, IDra Teatro has being part of numerous networks that in many cases have fostered the birth: Associazione Etre, IETM www.ietm.org/; EAIPA https://eaipa.eu, C.RE.S.CO www.progettocresco.it; NdN www.networkdrammaturgianuova.it).
