Born in 1992 in Treviso, Italy, Ruggero Franceschini studied acting in Piccolo Teatro di Milano School, directed by Luca Ronconi (2011-14), and obtained a BA in Humanities from the University of Milan (2011-16). He has been working internationally since 2012 until today as an actor and performer with directors Luca Ronconi, Declan Donnellan, Émilie Rousset, Milo Rau, Giorgio Sangati, Federico Tiezzi, Alessandro Marinuzzi, Rajeev Badhan, Elisabetta Consonni, Francesca Merli… He has performed in prestigious context such as Festival D’Avignon, Barbican Theatre, Piccolo Teatro di Milano, and as a supporting actor in the full length movie “Perfetta Illusione” directed by Pappi Corsicato (Italy 2022), produced by Mompracem film. In 2019, he obtained his Master of Arts in "Performance Design and Practice" from Central Saint Martins London. At the same time, he started creating performances, directing both in theatre, public space, and digital space, with a focus in participation of human and non-human subjects (landscape, AI...). His work has been produced by Teatro Stabile del Veneto, SlowMachine, M.A.L.T.E. (Italy), LUIT (France), Momentum (Austria) and Switchoffthelight (Taiwan). From 2021 to 2025 he is part of the artistic direction of GEA, contemporary theatre festival in Treviso (Italy). He is based in Europe.
