Straligut Teatro has been operating in the field of cultural production since 2004, maintaining theatre in all its possible variations as the central core of its activity. The association's activity develops throughout the entire province of Siena, tracing various artistic trajectories and experimenting with just as many cultural practices: from the production of shows to the organization of reviews and festivals for emerging theatre (TeatrInScatola, Sienafestival) and children's theatre (Can You RePET? - Il teatro a emissioni zero), to the conception of special projects (In-Box, a support network for the circulation of new theatre), from laboratory-based training activities to teaching in schools, and European projects. Theatre, understood as a set of performative, scenic, and cultural practices, represents both the means and the end of the association's social commitment. Its roots in the reference territory allow it to weave lasting relationships with the citizens and institutions and, at the same time, to become a local and national point of reference for independent theatre companies outside traditional circuits. The cultural commitment reflects the professional one: both are based on the guiding principles of transparency, enhancement of human resources, civil participation, and artistic and performative research. The experience of Straligut in Monteroni d'Arbia fits within this general framework. A commitment that has grown exponentially over the years, becoming one of the focal points of the association's activities. The Supercinema, in particular, represented a fundamental opportunity to create and propose artistic and cultural events to the territory, as well as a stimulus for the maturation of the professional skills within the association. For the three-year period 2013-2015, Straligut Teatro was in artistic residency at the Municipality of Monteroni d'Arbia.
