M.Art.E APS was founded in 2019 in Varese with the opening of its School of Performing Arts, with the aim of creating an inclusive and educational space for young artists and for anyone wishing to explore the world of performance arts. It has developed into an innovative presence within the Italian artistic landscape, whose main mission is to promote theatre, dance, music, and everything connected to the performing arts—both onstage and behind the scenes—making them accessible to a wide audience. M.Art.E stands out for its eclectic and cross-disciplinary language, which blends various artistic disciplines. Its goal is to transcend cultural and social barriers through continuous exploration and growth, both for the artists and for the audience. Theatre, in particular, is regarded as an authentic means of communication, capable of evoking deep emotions and fostering catharsis and self-discovery. This makes it a powerful educational tool, especially for young people. Theatre is understood as a dynamic, multisensory experience that goes beyond live performance, integrating installations, artistic crossovers, and the use of technology. According to the association’s philosophy, it should not only entertain but also provide a transformative and therapeutic experience. One of M.Art.E’s central values is investing in young artists. The company offers ongoing training through courses and workshops, creating a fertile environment for the development of creative skills. This training path takes shape through its School of Performing Arts, which provides students not only with technical foundations but also with the emotional tools needed to face the artistic world. M.Art.E’s pedagogical approach is inclusive and encourages collaboration and personal as well as artistic growth. M.Art.E also operates as a theatre production company. With the support of its in-house company of professional actors and performers, it has produced four shows, three of which are entirely original in both music and dramaturgy. These productions have gone beyond provincial borders to bring their messages across Italy, performing in festivals and theatres. In all its productions, M.Art.E remains true to its mission: pursuing not only cultural but also social objectives, to reach as many people as possible. Its driving force is the belief that theatre can do good and should increasingly be used as a means of communicating reality. The themes explored in its productions tackle issues that permeate society and need to be spoken about: eating disorders, bullying and cyberbullying, violence, inclusion of diversity, respect for people and animals, and medical conditions—both physical and psychological. Through its eclectic language and the fusion of different art forms, the company seeks to overcome barriers and grow together—as artists and as individuals. It employs technology as a dramaturgical tool, in a hyperrealistic search for context, imagery, and expressive urgency. Video projections, soundscapes, immersive music, scents, and multisensory installations merge on stage to create a fully perceptive experience. This stylistic and technological research is combined with refined direction, aiming to offer the audience a theatrical experience that is vivid, authentic, and profoundly human.
