“L’UOMO DAL CERVELLO D’ORO” nasce da un’esperienza personale della coreografa Alessia Gatta. Era il 31 Luglio 1992 quando diciassettenne, assisteva al lancio dello space shuttle Atlantis, presso il KSC (Cape Canaveral-USA). Il ricordo apre a delle domande che si traducono in partitura corporea e musicale: Come ci si prepara ad essere autori di uno spettacolo del genere? Quale l’aspettativa di chi si ritrova coinvolto in un momento così unico senza una particolare preparazione scientifica se non il desiderio giovanile di conoscere? Il confine tra scienza e meraviglia diventa una coreografia che esplora il tempo, la materia e lo spazio. Architettura rigorosa e circolazione sanguigna. La tessitura coreografica prende il via dal semplice movimento di alzare la testa e guardare in alto, per poi svilupparsi attorno alla drammaturgia testuale di Marco Angelilli. Quest’ultimo si è basato sulle poesie di Wisława Szymborska per fornire ai danzatori un terreno di sperimentazione gestuale e vocale. Il risultato è una danza che sonda distanze e punti di incontro tra spazio e tempo, suoni e gesti, persone e linguaggi. La coreografia equivale al diagramma dello spazio usato per descrivere in maniera ideale le attività che vi si svolgono. In questo spettacolo Gatta conferma il suo inconfondibile stile contaminato ed eclettico, reso tale da una commistione di generi e stili. L’energia delle danze urbane mescolata alle tecniche della danza contemporanea.

[RITMI SOTTERRANEI] is an Italian Dance Company specialized in choreography and performance. It is born in 2002 thanks to Alessia Gatta’s idea to gather up different artists in a collective, whose main objective was the research and the experimentation of various kinds of expressive languages. The starting point has always been thought, body and space. Thought in the sense of concept, conscience, ideas, desires. Body in the sense of the whole spectrum of the dynamic functions. Space considered as everything could be around us. Since the foundation, Gatta created different kind of production; some of them, as Sospeso tra le correnti (2008), Cemento (2011) Amazon (2013) Weltflucht (2014), Convivio (2015), L’Uomo dal cervello D’oro (2017) and 8x8=64 (2018) have been studied to lie in theatrical space; other ones need urban places to be exalted. That’s why lot of Companies like BMW Group Italia, Bags Entertainement, Natura&Architettura, Ideameeting, CORE, Musical Box, Frosinone Calcio, Elite Model Look, Alta Roma Alta Moda, and Istituto Quasar commissioned to Gatta site specific works. Her particular attention to the Space is a predominant characteristic of Alessia Gatta’s works. The strong interaction with the surrounding environment comes from all the different aspects of her identity, from dance to the architectural education, from the spatial structure to the culture. In our contemporary culture, in which external goads arouse us continuously, architectural spaces have an unavoidable function as refuge. “These works could be considered as underground structures whose fight to emerge from the ground represents encounter between the bodies’ movement and nature.” The impulse to create comes from below and from within, and then flows into the light and opens to the outside, but never neglecting the origins of the gestures. In their works, Alessia Gatta and the Ritmi Sotterranei try to find the “beauty”, being grazed the thin comparison between dance and art. Our mind is a wonderful machine, but the union of different minds can exceed it. That’s why the collaborations with other artists - such as Mokadelic, Antonio D’Antò and Federica Italiano for the music, Quiet Ensemble for the multimedia installations, Viola Pantano for the photography and the visual arts, Giovanni Fontana for the sonorous poetry, Daniele Davino and Marco Policastro forthe lighting design, Professor Sergio Raimondo for consultancy regarding the Martial Arts, Marco Angelilli for the theatrical approach- which shows a visceral will to interchange. An interchange visible even in the International activities of the Company, which have always been supported by Italian Institutions : IIc in Shanghai ( DANCE STAGE INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL- Shangai) Mibact (Korea-Busan International Dance Festival, 2017--Denmark, Ringkobing, 2014), IIC in Copenhagen (Denmark-Copenhagen, Tarm, Ringkobing,2015), Municipality of Alatri (France-Clisson, 2004).
