“One act on identity” is a music theater performance for 7 performers (5 musicians and 2
dancers) that wants to create a journey across different kind of comunications and relationships
between individuals.
For example, how can we take a text as a starting point for an improvisation? How can we build a
character starting from a movement and a sound? How can we go from the situation of non
comunication to the chamber music?
During the performance each chatacter will evolve, grow and transform through different situations
and dynamics, and at the end of the cicle they will all find their final identity, as individuals and as
group. There is no an “arrival” point, but simply a flow of events where each of the characters and
each element will grow, transform and find new shapes and relations with the others and the space.
Like in every journey there will be different phases:
• Chaos: new identities and characters are forming, new things are popping up in
the space, but they seem to don't be aware of each other.
• Centralization: now the space is filled with different identities, they will start
to aknowledge each other: they are not anymore alone.
• Big Bang: a turning point
• Synchronicity: a group is formed, dance and music are following the scores of
a piece that is bringing all together on the same page: “Synchronicity”
• Entropy: sounds and echos are remaining in the space, the circle ends with the
feeling that we found our own “identity” through the journey, but there is always
the space for a possible new cicle.

FAR(AWAY) ENSEMBLE wants to be a modular and multidisciplinary ensemble where different
forms of arts and languages are converging into performances of Music-Theater. Performances
where Differences and Distances will be seen as resources and tools instead of simply as issues or
situations to avoid.
As an ensemble we would like to have some kind of a social impact; trying then to find innovative
form of communication and innovative ways to reach the curiosity and attention of the audience.
Our ideas will develop crossing different arts and fields,s tarting from social issues and topics,
through exploration to improvisation and composition.
About what is “Far away”; In general, we can refer to the concept of distance in a concrete and
abstract way. What is far physically not necessarily it will be far in the content, or two elements
sharing a small space they can be really far from each other in the substance. Anyhow, putting
together element coming from a “distance” and studying their behavior and interaction can give life
to many different and interesting phenomena that we would like to explore and represent.
Music theater is for us the dissolution of the fixed boundaries between the act of composing and the
staging, integrating them into a result that appears as an inseparable whole.
In a world where any sound, light, image or gesture has a clear function in the process of decoding
messages like: “press me” “buy me” “watch out” “come here” “go away”, etc. Faraway ensemble
want to re-negotiate the relations between elements of spatial, sonic, performative, visual and
notational as an act of emancipation of aesthetic form from its immediate semantic functionality.
