Sagittarius A* is the black hole at the center of our galaxy. Black holes are celestial bodies with gravitational fields so intense that they absorb and “invert” the properties of matter, which disappears into them. Their function, although still partly mysterious, evokes death understood as an event that determines the cessation of the biological functions of a body and the beginning of a new phase in which the body, no longer tied to an individuality, gradually loses the qualities that characterized it in life. In contemporary times, of all the phases of life, death is, however, certainly the most censored. Like black holes, it exerts an enormous influence on your lives, even if the thought of death is often silenced or kept at a distance. Through dance, Sagittarius A* explores the action of time that frees the corpse from the signs that identified it in life. Dance, like a meditation, focuses on that moment of transition that transforms the body into an object in the inanimate world. From this also emerges a reflection on technological development, which offers us the promise of a future in which existence can develop beyond the physical body. The work begins an investigation into one of the most mysterious and significant stages of human experience. We imagine a dance of the body as it abandons its materiality, we cross its individual dimension, which exalts the uniqueness of each body, and its inescapable connection with the Other, observer, community, technology.
