With her novel published in 1929, "Alexis ou Le traité du vain combat", the french writer Marguerite Yourcenar gave life to a long letter in which the protagonist attempts to declare his homosexuality to his wife. Through the text, I have started my choreographic research that embodies the complex physical and emotional dynamics that can come into play the process of coming out and shows how in the urgency of a declaration in the first person, on the other hand, collective and shared urgencies, that concern in transversal manner the condition and state of being human, can be recognized.





Technical Information:



The performance is originally designed to be welcomed in a non-theatrical space where it is possible to maintain good proximity between the audience and the performer and where there is natural light. The performance may require a specific set-up adaptation based on the light and space conditions of each location and show time.

A staging and re-adaptation study of the performance in a theatrical space is currently underway.

The performance begins with the entrance of the audience in the space.
