The MA Performance Design and Practice cohort at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, founded Mapped Productions in 2013. Mapped Productions has staged two original works and two radical adaptations of classic texts and shown work in the UK, Greece and Italy. Peculiarity of the company is an ongoing research into the creation of multimedia immersive performances which premiered both in the UK, and internationally. As a result of this highly collaborative process the kind of work produced embraces interdisciplinary, promenade, and environmentally tailored practice methods, which focus as much on the audience experience as on the performance design narrative.
Mapped Productions' unique merging of skills and diverse backgrounds from which each of their members come stretch between theatre, architecture, visual art, design and performance, thus creating their distinctive work. The company aims to question and challenge conventional theatre practices, and instead encourage intermediacy, discovery and physical interaction.
