Valeria Loprieno trained in contemporary dance in Belgium with Vandekeybus’ Ultima Vez and holds a degree in Dance History from Sapienza University of Rome. She has danced with the Teatro Comunale di Bolzano, Cie Twain directed by Loredana Parrella, Simona Lobefaro, La Veronal, and Valentina Versino. For the past 11 years, she has been working with Compagnia Atacama, performing in festivals and theatres in Italy, France, Belgium, Poland, Corsica, Spain, Germany, and Brazil. Alongside her work as a dancer, she is also active as a choreographer and teacher. Her productions were initially supported by the Cie Twain/Nuovi Autori project, with the support of MiBACT – Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali e del Turismo, and OFFicinaTwaIN14/16_Regione Lazio. She is currently supported by Compagnia Atacama through the Nuovi Autori project, with the support of MIC. Her projects have been presented, among others, at Teatri di Vetro Festival - Roma, PresenteFuturo festival at Teatro Libero - Palermo, TEDx - Cortina, Premio Prospettiva DanzaTeatro - Padova, Premio TenDance - Latina, and Paesaggi del Corpo International Contemporary Dance Festival - Velletri (Rm). Giovanna Rovedo graduated from the National Academy of Dance and holds a degree in Anthropology from Sapienza University of Rome. She works as a performer, author, and researcher in several countries, including Italy, the United States, India, the Philippines, Germany, Egypt, Switzerland, Sweden, and Finland. Her work has been supported and presented by, among others, PIA, Anghiari Dance Hub, CSS Teatro Stabile di Innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Paesaggi del Corpo, Second Hand, Nah Dran, Moving Poets, La MaMa Moves, Off Label, TEDxPadova, Fabbrica Europa, and Inteatro Festival. She is a member of the multidisciplinary artistic collective Dimensionen (Germany). In 2015, she worked with Laurent Chétouane as part of the Biennale Danza College and with Virgilio Sieni for CSS, an experience she repeated in 2021 as assistant choreographer. In 2024, she was selected for the Interspazio project and for Ticino in Danza Festival. Since 2015, she has collaborated with Filipino-American dance artist Sharon Estacio. In 2024–25, together they were awarded the Perform Europe grant with an international partnership involving Compagnia Atacama and Carovana S.M.I. in Italy, Vitlycke Centre for Performing Arts in Sweden, and TaikaBox in Finland. Since 2021, she has been co-founder and curator of T20 Studio, an initiative dedicated to the regeneration of inland and rural areas through an active dialogue between art and design.
