A personal life story bringing Filumena Marturano back to the stage in a contemporary guise, as she was another Filume’.



Franco and Filumena’s stories come together to teach us about the most powerful weapon: inclusion.



Franco’s monologue and the dramatic lines by Eduardo De Filippo are pieces of a perfect puzzle where the lives of the two characters match with no effort: they are both exploited and underestimated, put aside, marginalised, alone and, most of all, unloved.

But they indeed do love, they’re in love with passion, with life. In front of their small bits of joy they get hopeful and delusional, despite the fact that disappointments and failures are hiding behind each corner.

Both of them are looking for love and respect but, for a long time, all they come across are resentment and hate.



Their strength resides in the struggle they fight for love, the love that Filume’ has for Don Domenico and her children, the love that Franco has for his job, his theatre, his art.

They chase, paying it dearly, what they fond the most of, one with the “Suitcase Syndrome” he was born with, the other with the will to bring her life back together as a woman and as a mother. By doing so they can, at last, allow themselves to cry just for once.
